Recent staff/student visit to India

In December, 8 students and 4 teachers visited a school in Trivandrum for 1 week where we stayed in the school for 2 nights and 3 days. It was an amazing and unique experience, that we will undoubtedly remember forever.

Meeting the students was the pinnacle of the mountain as they treated us with such respect that words can simply not express it.

We gained a lot of independence, confidence and learnt how to appreciate the difference in lifestyles between India and the UK.

Update UKIERI projects 2009

Last year UKIERI came up with great ideas and went well. We wrote penpal letters to schools in India. They replied and we are now looking towards replying back. Another idea that was a sucess was the video diaries. Six video diaries were made to be sent to India so they can see what schools in Britain are like and how we live, we are hoping they send us a few video diaries so we can see how they live.
With the DVD's made in England and the DVD's from India we can compare, show and teach other pupils and teachers what life is like in our part of the country. Also a trip to India is being planned to visit the schools and experience their lifestyle. The students will be staying in the school accomodation and experience their lessons to see what they learn. There are many great ideas still to come from UKIERI!

We hope you enjoy watching a small selection of them, we are soon to send them to our partner schools in India. Once again, well done to the UKIERI group!! Mrs Odedra

International fun and games

We got information on traditional games that they would like us to play from India. We had to try and understand the rules and play the games successfully. In our last meeting we discussed the rules for each game and tried to understand how the games work and what is needed to play them. We went and collected the equipment to play the games from various departments around the school. We are going to play and record the games next week and hope to send off the recordings to India by the end of the school term. Have a nice summer.
Next update coming soon.
